Simon Pagenaud still at the forefront in Indianapolis

Following on from his pole position won last Sunday on the Indianapolis oval, simon pagenaud (Team Penske – Chevrolet) once again distinguished itself by achieving the best time of the eighth day of testing on the legendary American track which will host the 500 miles this weekend.

The Frenchman completed his benchmark lap in 39 at an average of 397 km/h, ahead of his teammate Josef Newgarden by 367,64 thousandths. James Hinchcliffe (SPM – Honda) takes third place at 29 thousandths ahead of Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing – Honda) at 77 thousandths and Alexander Red (Andretti Autosport – Honda) at 135 thousandths.

Sébastien Bourdais (Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser Sullivan – Honda) finished 14th in this last session before a break in the Indy 500 runs. The next session, the traditional Carb Day, will take place this Friday before the race on Sunday.
