Spencer Pigot joins Ed Carpenter Racing

Spencer Pigot will defend the colors of Ed Carpenter Racing by driving the No. 20 of the driver of the same name in the road and urban events. The reigning Indy Lights champion made his debut in IndyCar with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing on March 13 at the St Petersburg Grand Prix before competing in the two races in Indianapolis.

Spencer Pigot previously scored 24 victories in USF2000, Pro Mazda and Indy Lights, including six last year. The American finished the 100th edition of the Indianapolis 500 in 25th place.

Ed Carpenter will return to the wheel of his car during races held on ovals, such as the one held at Texas Motor Speedway the following weekend.
