Schmidt Peterson Motorsports has announced the end of the partnership with Calmels Sport, which aimed to participate in the Indianapolis 500.

SPM and Calmels Sport end their partnership for Indy 500

The partnership between Schmidt Peterson Motorsports and Calmels Sport, for the 2018 edition of the Indianapolis 500, has ended by mutual agreement. The American team confirmed the information in a brief press release.

“Schmidt Peterson Motorsports and Calmels Sport have mutually agreed to end their partnership for a 2018 Indianapolis 500 program. SPM will focus on raising the level of performance of its commitment in IndyCar Series. Both parties wish each other the best for the future. »

Didier Calmels had established a partnership with Sam Schmidt's structure for the engagement of a car which was to be piloted by the Frenchman Tristan Gommendy. The team will field the Canadian duo James Hinchcliffe and Robert Wickens in 2018 in the American series.
