Townsend Bell returns in IndyCar to compete in the Indianapolis 500. The 38-year-old American will be entered into Panther Racing, having competed in around ten races in the discipline in 2004 and 2005. The 2001 IndyLights champion has already made six starts in the legendary event, with his best result being a fourth place in 2009.
The Californian released the information on NBC Sport. “It’s really exciting to be back with Panther. I even wore the jumpsuit I wore when I was with Panther in 2004”, joked Townsend Bell. The latter has been racing in the ALMS in the GT category for two seasons and took part in the event last year with Schmidt-Pelfrey Motorsports where he finished ninth.
