Tristan Vautier prepares for his IndyCar test

Tristan Vautier will be at the wheel of the DW12 of simon pagenaud this Wednesday at the Sebring circuit. The 23-year-old Frenchman was invited by the Sam Schmidt Motorsports team to take part in this test session after winning the Indy Lights title in his first year of participation. The French driver had already highlighted himself in 2010 by winning the Star Mazda US Championship. After having succeeded in its choice by opting for Simon Pagenaud for the 2012 season, voted best rookie of the year, the American team is interested in another driver from France.

The Poitevin will also be present to take part in the Sam Schmidt Motorsports tests and will thus be able to help his compatriot take his first steps behind the wheel of a car de l 'IndyCar Series. However, the 2012 Indy Lights champion remains modest about his ambitions. “This is going to be completely new for me, so I can’t set any real performance goals. I'm going to Sebring without putting any pressure on myself, but rather focusing on what the members of Sam Schmidt?s IndyCar team will teach me and how I can apply their advice effectively. My only goal will be to improve throughout the day because I know that there is a mandatory learning process when you move to another category of car. I am very honored to be able to benefit from this opportunity and even more so with the Team with whom I won the Championship in Indy Lights this season. »
