Jack Aitken leaves Renault

It's a page that is turning for Jack Aitken with Renault. The 24-year-old Briton is no longer part of the Renault Sport Academy program even though he played with the Losange for a good part of his career.

Jack Aitken was accepted into the French manufacturer's young driver program in 2016 after winning the Formula Renault Eurocup and the Alps championship. If he finished runner-up in the GP3 Series in 2017, his move to F2 was more difficult with ART GP and Campos Racing even if he finished 5th in the championship last year.

In parallel with his program, Jack Aitken was appointed test driver and reserve driver for the Renault Sport team. F1 Team, but his press release indicates that he “decided to leave Renault (to devote himself) to a new step towards his goal of driving in F1”.

“I would like to express my thanks to Renault and its Academy for placing me in a position which allows me to begin a very interesting new chapter in my career. I wish them the best for the future. I am not yet able to announce my plans for the upcoming season, but I will make them known very soon”, commented the person concerned.

Will Jack Aitken return for a third year in F2 or will he head towards other disciplines? In any case, the Briton has only evolved in car for the time being.
