Jake Dennis opens his account in Valencia

After signing his first career pole this morning in Formula E, Jake Dennis (BMW i Andretti) pocketed his first victory in the discipline for his first year in the championship.

On a track that became dry again in Valencia, the Briton initially retained the advantage at the start over Alex Lynn (Mahindra), while Norman Nato (Venturi) already rises to 4th place and Jean-Eric Vergne (DS Techeetah) at 6e.

The hierarchy hardly changes for first place, but with a little over a quarter of an hour to go, Lynn loses several positions after contact with Norman Nato at the hairpin, a sequence which benefits the Frenchman. , but also to René Rast (Audi), André Lotterer (Porsche) and Oliver Rowland (Nissan).

Nato will be penalized 5″ on his race time for the collision with Lynn, a shame for the Frenchman who could easily have finished on the podium.

By managing the start of the last lap well just after the end of the time allotted for the race, Dennis actually won on the line ahead of the Frenchman, finally classified 5th, André Lotterer and Alex Lynn, the latter two completing the trifecta of final head. Oliver Rowland places the first Nissan e.dams in 4th position.

René Rast, Jean-Eric Vergne, Oliver Turvey (NIO), Edoardo Mortara (Venturi) and Lucas di Grassi (Audi) enter the points. Winner yesterday, Nyck de Vries (Mercedes) finished the event in 16th place.

A contact between Stoffel Vandoorne (Mercedes) and Sébastien Buemi (Nissan e.dams) after the hairpin caused the Belgian to retire, the latter having hit the protective tires and damaged his right front suspension.
