After testing with Jaguar Racing, the possibility of seeing James Calado joining the ranks of Jaguar Racing, replacing Alex Lynn, had become more than likely.

It is now official this Wednesday, the British brand having confirmed the arrival of the 2017 GTE Pro world champion and winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2019 with Ferrari / AF Corse, alongside New Zealander Mitch Evans.

“It was one of the most coveted seats in the Formula E and I am extremely proud to have been selected, comments Calado. Jaguar's motorsport history is iconic and being part of this team in Formula E is a great opportunity for me.

Although electric racing is new to me, I am confident in my own experience of car to achieve great results for the team. » Before dominating the GT world, Calado had a rather successful single-seater career with the GP3 runner-up title in 2011 and a third place in GP2 in 2013.

Jaguar also presented its new I-Type 4 single-seater, the team now being able to rely on the support of sponsor Castrol. Engine, gearbox, condenser, rear suspension and shock absorbers are new, with the stated objective of better behavior on the track and a reduction in total mass.
