Jean-Karl Vernay doubles the bet

Jean-Karl Vernay seems well on his way to a great season. Left for the United States to pursue his career in car, the young Frenchman has adapted perfectly to the US lifestyle, the racing format and the Indylights car. Winner in St Petersburg two weeks ago, the native of Villeurbanne managed the weekend at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama perfectly.

Starting in pole position, the Frenchman relinquished the lead at the start, in favor of Charlie Kimball, leader for just one lap. Indeed, “Jay Kay” regained the advantage over Kimball to no longer give up the reins of the race, winning after 40 laps (see video summary). The Frenchman won the 30 dollars for the victory, plus the 000 dollars bonus for having achieved a double.

« I had no doubt that we could have a good start to the championship, comments the Frenchman. But, winning the first two races, no one could have expected it. The level in Indylights is very high and you have to be really strong to take pole or win a race. I'm really happy because everything is going well. I work well with the whole team. The car was good at the start, middle and end of the race. We must continue to work like this to hope for the same thing next weekend. »
