Kobayashi: “At our best”

First winner of an international series this year, Kamui Kobayashi succeeded Romain Grosjean on the GP2 Asia Series prize list. The Japanese, protégé of the Toyota team, will be one of the favorites for the GP2 Series title.

Before the start of the season, you were presented as the big favorite for the GP2 Asia Series. Did you feel any pressure?
« Je ne suis pas sujet à la pression. Mais je reconnais que je me suis posé des questions à Shanghai lorsque Rodriguez a fait la pole alors que nous étions les plus rapides durant les essais. Après Bahrein, alors que je menais le championnat, je me suis rendu compte que j?étais capable d?atteindre mon objectif et qu?il fallait marquer des points et éviter de faire des erreurs. Dams a fait un super travail et ce titre me place en bonne position pour le GP2. Merci à l?équipe et à Toyota pour son soutien. »

Do you feel like a GP2 Series favorite?
" I don't know. I have to concentrate on this new championship. It's a new challenge. We will work hard with the team on the car and the engine. I don't put myself in my opponents' shoes. We have to work to be at our best. »
