The main race for Schumacher in Sochi

In a championship where no one really manages to string together big performances, Mick Schumacher continues to perform well for several weeks. Fifteen days after notching his first success of the season in F2, at Monza, the German signed a second victory in the main race, this Saturday in Russia, ahead of Yuki tsunoda (Carlin) and Callum Ilott (UNI-Virtuosi).

Party 3rd, the pilot Ferrari made a very good start, as usual, to take 2nd place behind pole sitter Yuki Tsunoda. It was finally on the 19th lap that he attacked the Japanese, imitated a few turns later by Callum Ilott (UNI-Virtuosi).

While we thought the podium was frozen, Tsunoda was able to find rhythm at the end of the race to pick up Ilott from the outside in turn 3. The Briton even almost lost his place on the podium, resisting for 25 thousandths to Luca Ghiotto (Hitech) on the finish line.

Starting on the front line, Jehan Daruvala (Carlin) finished 5th, just ahead of a very inspired Jack Aitken (Campos) and author of many superb defensive maneuvers. Guanyu-Zhou (UNI-Virtuosi), 8th, will start from pole on Sunday just ahead Nikita mazepin (Hitech).

The bad operation of the day is to the credit of Christian Lundgaard (ART Grand Prix). The Dane was caught in a collision at the second turn, without being able to do much about it. He is losing big points for the championship. For his first with MP Motorsport, Giuliano Alesi took 2th place.
