F2 will move to Paul-Ricard in 2018

The organizers of the F2 have revealed the calendar for the 2018 season. The program will be similar to that of this year but an additional meeting has been added to reach 12 meetings.

F2 will return to Sochi (Russia) which will count for the penultimate race of the season and will also be present at Paul-Ricard on the sidelines of the French Grand Prix contested the weekend of June 24 at Castellet. The season will begin on the weekend of April 8 in Sakhir (Bahrain) and will end at the Yas Marina circuit (Abu Dhabi) on the weekend of November 25. The Jérez (Spain) event will not be kept.

“I am delighted to announce that next year’s calendar will feature twelve events alongside the F1, comments Bruno Michel, the director of F2. One of our missions is to prepare young drivers for the next step: F1. Having all our race weekends at the same time as F1 will help our drivers to experience as many circuits as possible but also to stand out in front of the paddock. The 2018 calendar offers a good compromise between European events and international races. »
