For its fourth visit to the Principality, the Formula E decided to innovate. If the e-Prix always took place in the streets of Monaco, the route was very different from that known to the general public.
This year, the situation is different. Indeed, the e-Prix will take place on the classic version of the Rocher circuit that we know, apart from a few details.
The entrance to turn 1 (Sainte Dévote) was modified with a repositioning of the curb inside as when it was created in 1929. Turn 11 from the chicane at the exit of the tunnel also underwent a modification in view of the coming from Formula E on May 8.
“Riding on the long version of the most legendary circuit in the world will allow Formula E to reach a milestone,” underlines Alberto Longo, co-founder of the discipline. In a way, this track is made for Formula E. It's fast and narrow and will offer plenty of overtaking opportunities.
