Formula E has already completed 1000km of testing

Formula E could well make people jealous on the side of the F1. The Spark-Renault SRT_01E developed by McLaren, Renault, Williams, Dallara, Michelin and Spark Racing Technology carried out 1000km of tests while the first season of the Electric Single-Seater Championship will only begin on September 13 in Beijing while its presentation only dates back to the Frankfurt Motor Show last September.

La car developing a power of 200kw, the equivalent of 270hp, carried out the majority of its tests on the Ferté-Gaucher circuit near Paris while being driven by Lucas di Grassi. Testing continued at the Circuit du Luc in the south of France where the full power of the battery was used versus the quarter previously. “We carried out around 750km of tests at La Ferté-Gaucher and the rest at the Circuit du Luc”, says Théophile Gouzin, development supervisor at Spark Racing Technology. “We have had no problems since the first tests in November, which is fantastic for such an innovative car. This is proof of the quality and know-how of our partners. The next month will be devoted to the final development courses with work on the tires. »

The Spark-Renault SRT_01E is capable of reaching a top speed of 225km/h and accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in just three seconds. Photos of the tests carried out at La Ferté-Gaucher can be found on this link.
