Formula E heading to Moscow

The 2014-2015 calendar Formula E was still not final, with one box still remaining to be completed, initially planned between Buenos Aires and Miami (see below). This is now done, since the city of Moscow will host the ninth and penultimate round of the season on June 6 on a route close to the Kremlin, and including 13 turns.

“Russia’s presence in motorsport dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, but their increasing involvement that we have seen over the last few years of growth is incredible. Following the debut of the WTCC two years ago and Formula One last year, the launch of another FIA Championship in this country is an important step in this path of growth, explains FIA president Jean Todt. Formula E represents a new form of racing and entertainment and is intended to attract not only motorsport fans, but also a new audience and in particular younger generations. It fits perfectly into the FIA’s traditional role as the leading promoter of innovation, technology and performance in the automotive sector. »

Furthermore, another modification of the calendar was made, since the eighth round, scheduled for May 30 in Berlin, Germany, has been brought forward to May 23.
