Switzerland returns to circuit racing with the Zurich ePrix

The FIA World Council has revealed the calendar for the fourth season of Formula e. Switzerland will host for the first time since 1955 and the terrible accident that occurred in 24 Hours of Le Mans a car race on a circuit with the introduction of the Zurich ePrix scheduled for June 10, one week before the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The organizers of Formula e and WEC should not suffer from date clashes between the two disciplines.

“I am delighted to see Formula E mark the return of motorsport to Switzerland for the first time in over 60 years. This would not have been possible without the fundamentals of Formula e which carries the electric revolution”, welcomes Alejandro Agag, the director of Formula e.

The fourth season calendar will welcome a total of four new events with Santiago de Chile, Rome and Sao Paulo (Brazil) replacing Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Monaco. The fourth season will thus include 11 events compared to nine in 2016-2017. The Paris ePrix will be contested on April 28. The season will conclude with the double-headers of New York and Montreal. Furthermore, the Berlin ePrix has been confirmed for May 19 and will once again be contested at the old Bremgarten airport.
