While the 8th season of the Formula E is in full swing, the ten teams can already look forward to next season. Part of the competition calendar has just been revealed this Thursday on the sidelines of the World Motor Sport Council. In 2023, electric single-seaters will participate in 18 races compared to the 16 races in the 2021/2022 season.

The 9th season of Formula E will begin on January 14 in Mexico City, followed by two races in Saudi Arabia. The drivers will then travel to Hyderabad for the first time in the history of the competition in India. India is not the only country to appear on the Formula E calendar. Paris not yet formalized on the 2022/2023 Formula E calendar

Three dates still remain to be defined on the next Formula E calendar. Paris could complete the list. As a reminder, the Paris ePrix took place from 2016 to 2019. But Formula E could also go to the United States. “ We are working to add Cape Town and a race in the United States when the provisional calendar is updated later in the year », Alberto Longo, the director of the championship.

In addition to the 2022/2023 Formula E calendar, the technical regulations for the championship have been approved. “ With no change in overall philosophy, the Season 9 technical regulations include general updates that reflect Gen3 car architectures (addition of front powertrain kit, car weight, power levels, energy requirements). » As a reminder, the next Formula E season marks the start of Gen3 with the arrival of McLaren instead of Mercedes
