GP2 being tested in Jerez

Bruno Senna will return to freelance in the GP2 Series. It will not be to prove itself but to continue the development of the car from his former team, iSport. He will drive the car on Thursday, the third and final day of testing planned in Jerez for the GP2 Series teams. “ iSport will be introducing new drivers in 2010, so I will help them by providing them with a reference point, while working on the set-up of the car », Commented Bruno Senna.

While developing the car, iSport will test drivers. Oliver Turvey, who stood out in Formula Renault 3.5 Series this season - notably by winning in Monaco - will be doing laps in the south of Spain. If the tests are conclusive, the Briton should join the team for the next GP2 Series season. iSport will also test the Swede Marcus Ericsson and the Belgian Jérôme d?Ambrosio, the latter having participated in the GP2 Series championship this season with the French team DAMS.

The Belgian will not only test the iSport single-seater since he has been invited to do some laps of the track for Fat Burner Racing Engineering. This team will test five other drivers: Diego Nunes, Roldán Rodríguez, Kamui Kobayashi, Sten Pentus and Dani Clos, the latter having played the season in the GP2 Series with the team.

The young drivers will be joined by an experienced driver on the Jerez track. Sebastian Loeb, four days after his victory during the Rally from Catalonia, will travel to Andalusia to also complete laps of the circuit. On Thursday, the five-time world champion will test himself behind the wheel of the DPR single-seater. “ A place was available at DPR. I will carry out tests behind the wheel of the C4 on October 6 and 7 in Great Britain before racing in GP2 on the 8th. », Commented the Alsatian.

Many other teams will come to Jerez. Among others, the tricolor ART Grand Prix team, which won the pilot titles (Nico Hulkenberg and manufacturers in the GP2 Series this season. Frédéric Vasseur's team will notably be racing Jan Charouz, champion Le Mans Series this year with Aston Martin, and Jules Bianchi, leader of the F3 Euro Series.
