The first Formula E cars have been delivered

The teams entered in the brand new electric single-seater championship (FIA stamp) received today the very first cars manufactured by Spark Racing Technology. A real success story for Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E Holdings: “ It is a very important day in the genesis of the championship. In September 2013 we launched this incredible electric car, and 3000 kilometers of rigorous testing later, we handed them over to the ten teams."

La Formula E is a brand new car, developing 270 hp and being able to reach 225 km/h. The races (maximum 10) will take place on urban circuits, of which only Monaco has already been used before. The championship risks being disputed since among the owners or main team of the ten teams, we find big names in motorsport like Alain Prost and Michael Andretti or personalities with the means to set up a large team with Leonardo DiCaprio and Sir Richard Branson (boss of Virgin).

The pilots are not left out with the participation of ex-pilots F1 Sébastien Bourdais, Jaime Alguersuari and Lucas di Grassi (ex-F1 driver and current member of the Audi Sport team in WEC) or even the Englishman Sam Bird (ex-GP2). According to our information, Franck Montagny will also be part of Andretti Motorsport. The next delivery of Formula E will be on June 16. Each team will then have the 4 cars allocated to it. The first race will take place in Beijing (China) on September 13.
