An Open Test will then be held, still on this oval, on May 7. Three days before the Indy 500 Rookie Orientation Program, which will take place in Indiana on May 10, where Jean Alesi will be present if his participation in the event is confirmed. An announcement must be made to this effect at the end of the week in Barber. Before that, Ed Carpenter Racing will have raced at Fontana on April 9, while Andretti Autosport (Marco Andretti, James Hinchcliffe, Ryan Hunter-Reay), KV Racing Technology (Rubens Barrichello, Tony Kanaan, EJ Viso) and Team Penske (Ryan Briscoe , Helio Castroneves, Will Power) will have invested in the Infineon Raceway on this date.
