Justin Wilson's Victorious Offering

On the sixty laps of the Watkins Glen circuit, Justin Wilson was able to quickly show his advantage. Starting in second position behind Ryan Briscoe, the Briton only gave the Australian seven laps of respite before taking the lead. The Dale Coyne Racing driver then widened the gap before seeing the yellow flag waved. A slowdown which nevertheless suited Wilson, since he had already passed through his stand for refueling. Despite his team's lack of record, Justin Wilson was able to keep his head and resist the comeback of his rivals to glean his team's first victory in Indycar.

In ambush in the general classification following his victory eight days ago, Scott Dixon, third at Watkins Glen, takes the lead in the championship. Dario Franchitti (15th) and Ryan Briscoe (3rd) are tied for second. The next race will take the field to Canada, to Toronto, for the first “foreign” race of this season.
