London returns, Saudi Arabia doubles down for the 2019-20 calendar

The British capital returns to the forefront and will host two races at the end of next season, precisely on July 25 and 26, 2020. After taking over Battersea Park in 2015 and 2016, the Formula E had been mistreated by associations, and the championship, whose management is nevertheless based in London, had to backtrack and leave British soil. Formula E will therefore make its comeback in London on the banks of the Thames and around the exhibition center and the ExCeL London conference center, which will be a partner of the event.

The circuit, already known but subject to approval, will be 2,4 km long with 23 turns and will have part of its indoor route, which constitutes a first for the discipline. This announcement could also mean that Formula E would leave New York where the championship finds its epilogue for two years and who will return there in July 2019 for two races, but which would be the last ones provided for in the contract.

However, an iconic city such as the American megacity remains important for the series, especially since the place where the E-Prix takes place is currently in full revitalization. The matter therefore remains to be followed…

As far as Riyadh is concerned, they liked the experience of last December. It should be recognized that the arrival of Formula E and the Westerners working around it allowed the Saudis to open up a little more, and everyone appreciated the experience. So much so that for the launch of next season, the organizers plan to think bigger with two races instead of one, with one of the two E-Prixes possibly taking place on Friday December 6, perhaps even at night.
