Long Beach postponed at the end of the season

Not even started, the 2021 seasonIndyCar is already experiencing its first modifications. Due to the health crisis, Penske Entertainment Corporation, promoter of the category, was forced to change the program for the next campaign. These changes concern the Long Beach Grand Prix.

Initially scheduled for March 18 as the third round of the year, the Californian meeting has been postponed to September 26. “ It is important that Long Beach be rescheduled in the calendar in order to continue the history and tradition of one of the most emblematic events of the discipline », Underlines Mark Miles, boss of Penske Entertainment Corporation.

Long Beach will now complete a three-race West Coast series as well as the 2021 season. This back-to-back-to-back will begin in Portland. Laguna Sec will then follow and therefore the Californian urban route at the end of the countryside.

« It’s a great opportunity to round off the season with three historic meetings in a row for what we believe will be our most exciting campaign yet », rejoices Mark Miles.

Unless there is another change in the near future, the 2021 IndyCar season will begin with the Saint Petersburg Grand Prix on March 7 and end at Long Beach on September 26.
