Ma Qing Hua will miss the end of the 2019-2020 season

With a program focused on six races in ten days at Tempelhof Airport in Berlin, the Formula E offered itself an end to the 2019-2020 season in an atypical format to respond to the constraints linked to the coronavirus pandemic.

Unfortunately for NIO, travel restrictions to Europe, a consequence of the epidemic, will prevent the Chinese Ma Qinghua to travel to Germany to compete in the final confrontations of the current campaign. The pilot will not be the only one affected since the Chinese staff of the structure are also unable to travel to Europe.

“It’s quite unfortunate, but there will be remote work done, says Vincent Wang, team director. Ma Qing Hua will also be present during the live event with our fans and provide support to the team on site. The team is currently exploring options for Ma's replacement, and an announcement will be made soon. »

To support Oliver Turvey, discussions have therefore been launched for the conclusion of the 2019-2020 championship, with Ma Qing Hua indicating for his part that he hopes to return for season 7 2020-2021.
