Marchionne: “Ferrari must be involved in Formula e”

Sergio Marchionne observes with interest the development of Formula e who announced last month the list of nine manufacturers who will be involved from 2018. If the director of Ferrari and CEO of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Group is mainly focused sportingly on the results of Maranello en F1, the enthusiasm generated by the Electric Single-seater Championship does not leave him indifferent.

“We must above all be involved in Formula e because electric technology through hybridization will be part of our future, said Sergio Marchionne in the FIA ​​Auto magazine. We have already developed a super hybrid, the La Ferrari, and our future models will feature the latest electric technologies. »

Alfa Romeo back in F1?

Sergio Marchionne would also like to put the Alfa Romeo brand back at the center of attention, the Italian manufacturer having participated in 110 Grands Prix between 1950 and 1985 with ten victories to boot.

“The second objective is to see Alfa Romeo in F1 again one day because I firmly believe that this is a Championship where this brand should be, added Sergio Marchionne. At this point, I don't know how or even if these two things will happen, but talking about them is already a good sign. »
