Marcus Ericsson extends contract with Chip Ganassi

The Chip Ganassi Team has announced that Swede Marcus Ericsson will once again be in the bank of the No. 8 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda during the 2021 season in Indycar. At 30, he will play his third season in the American championship.

The man with 97 grand prix Formula 1 joined Chip Ganassi in 2020 to finish twelfth in the championship with a fourth place at Road America his best result. He finished in the top 10 nine times in fourteen races.

“Marcus has proven that he belongs here, and this season he has greatly contributed to the success of our team. This includes being generous to your teammates, especially Scott Dixon. It is an essential piece of our overall program, we are happy to be able to allow it to grow and take the team to the top” commented Mike Hull, manager of Chip Ganassi Racing.
