Mark Webber would be happy to have Formula E in Australia

With a schedule moving from Saudi Arabia to New York, via Mexico, Hong Kong and even Paris, the Formula E covers almost all continents. Only Oceania, and the two main countries of Australia and New Zealand, have not yet been visited by the 100% electric single-seater championship.

Yet very involved in motorsport, with the F1, WRC, Supercars or GT events like the Bathurst 12 Hours, Australia would constitute a potential destination for the discipline, which would not displease Mark Webber.

The old pilot Red Bull Racing et Porsche would even see it as a major opportunity to promote the technology, which remains very confidential in his country.

“This technology, and this acceptance for this new technology, is sort of well advanced in other parts of the world, it will probably take some time in Australia, admits Webber on Speedcafe.com.

I think a race weekend to bring it to the people, show what the manufacturers are doing, see how fast the cars are and how everything works at a meeting would be sensational in Australia. I would love to have him there. »

Mark Webber remains involved with Porsche as a brand ambassador who will make his debut in the series in 2019-2020, after stopping its LM P1 hybrid program.
