Newman/Haas/Lanigan in full

At the end of 2008, the Newman/teamHaas/Lanigan Racing did not wish to retain Justin Wilson, replacing Sébastien Bourdais, lack of sponsor. The team did not think it would have the means to field a second driver alongside Graham Rahal, but it has finally revised its judgment by recruiting Robert Doornbos.

The former pilot of F1 Dutch, who also distinguished himself in Superleague Formula and A1 GP last year, as well as in Champ Car where he fought for the title with Bourdais in 2007, will therefore discover racing on ovals:

“It will be difficult, but I will train as much as possible to get good results. Just knowing that I'm going to compete in the legendary Indianapolis 500 excites me terribly. I am very happy to have this chance to race for Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing, the history of the team and the successes it has had in the past really attracted me. » rejoices Doornbos.

His return to the United States is therefore excellent news for fans, especially since this year he has the best possible equipment to play for a win during his first season in Indycar.

Son of double champion Bobby Rahal, Graham became, at 19 years and three months, the youngest winner of the discipline thanks to his victory obtained last year in the rain, in the streets of St Petersburg in Florida.

Unfortunately the rest will be less glorious, with only four Top 10s in the following sixteen events. It's up to him to prove that he deserves his place and that he can compete with his new teammate.
