Arrival in 2018 in the wake of the involvement of the other brand in the alliance, Renault, Nissan will remain committed to Formula E until 2025-2026, as confirmed this Wednesday by the Japanese firm.

After the three Renault e.dams Team crowns between 2014-2015 and 2016-2017, Nissan was unable to repeat these performances, with only two victories to its credit. Sébastien Buemi (New York 2019) and Oliver Rowland (Berlin 2020), but a team vice-champion title in 2019-2020.

Nissan will thus try to take advantage of the arrival of the Gen3 of Formula E single-seaters to find a rank more in line with the history of the team led by the troops of Dams.

“We have achieved excellent results in our first two seasons and renewing our long-term commitment to Formula E is a key milestone, said Tommaso Volpe, Nissan's Global Motorsports director.

We came in with a technical transfer approach from the road to the track, and by expanding our program with the Gen3 era, we have the opportunity to close the loop with a technical transfer from the track to the road.

We believe that as one of the global manufacturers involved in Formula E, the sport is the ideal platform to promote our expertise in electrification and demonstrate our commitment to more sustainable mobility solutions. »

La car Gen3 will come into action in 2022-2023 in Formula E, which acquired the FIA World Championship title this year.
