Nissan e.dams confirms Sébastien Buemi and Alex Albon

Nissan, which will take over from Renault in Formula E, has confirmed its two drivers for its debut in the discipline. Sébastien Buemi and Alex Albon will mix experience and youth.

Nissan e.dams confirms Sébastien Buemi and Alex Albon

After the adventure Renault e.dams, Nissan will take over the French brand alongside Jean-Paul Driot's team for the fifth season of the Formula E.

The Japanese firm, which will debut in the discipline next December for the opening of the 2018-2019 championship in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, will for the occasion trust a duo Sébastien Buemi - Alex Albon.

Pillar of the series and of Renault e.dams since 2014, the Swiss, titled in 2015-2016, will give the Japanese manufacturer the benefit of his extensive experience. Alex Albon, on the other hand, will discover Formula E, he who has climbed the different levels of the car through Formula Renault 2.0, the F3, the GP3 Series (2016 vice-champion), then the F2, first with ART Grand Prix, then with DAMS this year. 

Knowledge of the French team which could only facilitate the first steps of the young Thai, who also expects a lot from his collaboration with Sébastien Buemi.

“Electric city racing will be a new challenge for me, but working with Sébastien will be a big help, as he has set the benchmark for performance in the series. » underlines Albon.

 

 

Both drivers should be seen in Nissan colors during pre-season testing next month in Valencia.
