New health report for Correa

The parents of John Manuel Correa announce that the 20-year-old young man, seriously injured in the accident which took the life of Anthoine Hubert, has been transferred to a new London hospital specializing in orthopedic surgeries.

“After the lungs, attention is now focused on his lower limb injuries,” the Correa family said in a new official statement. Juan Manuel is now fully conscious and his lungs are recovering faster than expected.

His physical condition and his strength of character impressed the doctors. The main objective this week is to have Juan Manuel in the best possible shape for possible surgery on Sunday, which would last more than 10 hours.

This operation will be decisive for the future of Juan Manuel. For the first time since the accident, doctors will be able to reach the wounds on his lower right leg. They will be able to determine the degree of severity of injuries to the shin, ankle, and foot. During the operation, they will salvage what they can and remove what needs to be removed in order to rebuild his leg in the best way possible.

The surgeons are the most qualified in their field and are cautiously optimistic given Juan Manuel's rapid recovery over the past week.

However, his injuries remain serious and the surgical procedure is complex. Doctors gave Juan Manuel the option of having his right foot amputated before reconstructive surgery. He refused and chose the operation fully aware of the challenges it represents.”
