The season of Formula E got off to a bad start for Robin Frijns. The ABT Cupra driver crashed into Norman Nato's Nissan during the first lap of the Mexico E-Prix (Mexico), won by Jake Dennis (Avalanche Andretti). The Dutchman and the Frenchman were forced to retire.
ABT Cupra announced on social media that its driver suffered a broken left wrist. The 31-year-old Batavian will have to undergo surgery at the Mexico City hospital. He could miss the next meeting of the season, the double-header of Diriyah in Saudi Arabia (January 27-28).
His teammate Nico Mueller finished the race in 14th place.
