It wasn't just FIA competitors Formula 3 to debut their new toy in Bahrain this Sunday, March 1st. The big brothers of the FIA Formula 2 also took the opportunity to take part in the first day of collective testing before the 2020 season.
There were 22 of them taking to the Sakhir track with the new Pirelli tires fitted with 18-inch rims. Certainly one of the most spectacular stylistic modifications that the anteroom of the Formula 1 these last years :

Category debutant Pedro Piquet (Trident) was the most competitive with a lap in 1’41”877. The result of these training sessions also shows the good form of Nobuharu Matsushita (2nd, MP Motorsport), Jehan Daruvala (3rd, Carlin) and, more surprisingly, Roy Nissany (4th, Trident).

The best Frenchman on the board is the experienced one (30 years old) Tom dillmann (Trident, 7th). Giuliano Alesi (HWA) occupies 20th place. Finally, the son of Michael Schumacher, Mick Schumacher (Prema), is 11th.
Formula 2 testing will continue in Bahrain until March 3.
