Porsche confirms its involvement with Gen3

Despite the wave of departures recorded by the Formula E, with Audi and BMW, the series remains attractive for many manufacturers. Mahindra, or even Nissan in recent days, have formalized the continuation of their program for the future Gen3 regulations, before Porsche don't follow suit this Friday.

Arriving in the discipline in 2019, the Weissach firm will thus extend its official commitment from 2022/2023, a period when the German firm will also return to Endurance via the Hypercar category and its future LMDh.

Enough to stick to the Porsche philosophy which wishes to be involved in both the complete electrification of vehicles and hybrid solutions.

“From our perspective, Formula E provides the most competitive environment to advance the development of high-performance vehicles with a focus on eco-compatibility, energy efficiency and sustainability, underlines Fritz Enzinger, vice president of Porsche Motorsport.

The previous season confirmed this, despite the series of restrictions linked to the pandemic. The successes of our first season with two podiums and a pole position are only the beginning. »

Porsche Motorsport is officiating in Formula E this year with André Lotterer and Pascal Wehrlein as starting drivers.
