Porsche unveils its 99X Electric single-seater

At the end of a very long interactive game on the Twitch streaming platform, Internet users having to advance the action (and solve puzzles) by validating choices, Porsche lifted the veil on the car, which will be Weissach's weapon for the first official campaign of the German brand in Formula E in 2019-2020.

The single-seater, based on the Gen2 chassis, will be entrusted to the duo Neel Jani – André Lotterer and will display the usual Porsche colors in recent years in competition with a livery mixing white, black and red.

Tag Heuer appears in a good position in the single-seater, the watch brand having confirmed its status as title sponsor of the team earlier in the week.

Porsche thus joins its great German rivals Audi and BMW, already largely established on the Formula E scene, and will begin at the same time as Mercedes-AMG EQ.

Note that Pascal Zurlinden, already in charge of the GT project at Porsche Motorsport, was given a role in the Formula E project. “The concept of Formula E is very interesting and stands out from traditional motorsport series, indicates the Frenchman.

This is a new and exciting task that I am really looking forward to taking part in. Of course, I'm also excited to see so many familiar faces from my LM P1 experience and to work with the team again. »
