Theo Pourchaire never stops progressing. After a remarkable first season in FIA Formula 3 (2nd with 2 victories, 2 best laps and 8 podiums), the native of Grasse (Alpes-Maritimes) won his place for the last four races of the 2020 season of Formula 2 in Bahrain.
Welcome, Theo! At the final two race weekends at @BAH_Int_Circuit, @ FIAFormula3 runner-up @TPourchaire will make his debut in the @ FIA_F2 in a BWT HWA RACELAB seat. #F2 # FIAF2 #BWT #HWAracelab #hwaag #remussportexhaust pic.twitter.com/HqWHFsfs9i

He addressed this possibility in the six pages that we devoted to him in our September 30 edition. Théo Pourchaire will contest the last two rounds of the Formula 2 season in Bahrain.
Aged 17, Théo Pourchaire managed to win the only seat available for the end of the season in the antechamber of the Formula 1. He will in fact drive for HWA Racelab, whose seat has been vacant since the departure of his compatriot Giuliano Alesi to MP Motorsport. “I’m super happy and super excited about racing in F2.”, the Formula 3 world vice-champion told us.
In a team in difficulty this year, the Frenchman does not set any result objectives: “I do this above all to gain experience. The idea is to get used to the category and the car. I see all of this as a bonus because I'm here to learn. »
His goal, obviously, is to prepare for his definitive accession to the category, which should take place next season. As previously announced, discussions with ART Grand Prix are very well advanced and the young man should continue with the reigning champion French team.
