Return to GP2 for di Grassi

Lache par Renault, di Grassi hoped to access the F1 in 2009 by carrying out tests with Honda, but he was ultimately not selected, even after the announcement of the survival of the team under the name Brawn Grand Prix. He therefore logically returned to GP2, to Racing Engineering, the team which led Giorgio Pantano to the Drivers' title last year.

For his fourth season in the category, the Brazilian had already fought for the title with Timo Glock in 2007 and finished third in 2008, although he had missed the first six races.

“Unlike last year, this time I could participate in the championship from the first race,” emphasizes di Grassi. “I think that after a good season, with F1 tests at Renault and Honda, I will be more ready than ever for the title. I feel very motivated and I will attack as much as possible. »

His teammate this year will be the Spaniard Dani Clos, transferred from Formula 3 Euro Series where he spent two seasons and achieved two podiums. Clos was also invited to test the Williams F1 during two test sessions at the end of 2008.
