Richmond and Toronto canceled, Road America postponed

The IndyCar Series will lose two meetings compared to the latest calendar in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.

Penske Corporation, at the head of the American series, confirmed this evening the cancellation of the two rounds of Richmond (Virginia – June 27) and Toronto (July 12), the Canadian round appearing on hold for several days after the measures decreed by the city authorities, prohibiting events bringing together the public until the end of July.

Another change is the postponement of the Road America round (Wisconsin), initially scheduled for June 21 as the second race of the new calendar, and which will finally be organized on July 11 and 12 instead of Toronto. The event also becomes a double-header with two races on Saturday and Sunday.

The opening of the revamped schedule remains Texas (June 6), while the season finale in St. Petersburg (Florida) will still take place on October 25.
