Rosberg: no Formula e in the near future

After announcing his retirement from the F1, Nico Rosberg is enjoying his rest away from the pressure of the Championship. If the German could one day get back behind the wheel of a racing car, he does not see himself evolving in Formula e in the near future as the discipline attracts several of its former colleagues such as Felipe Massa, but he nevertheless admits to being interested in the Electric Single-Seater Championship.

“I don’t think I’ll commit to it in 2018-2019, admitted Nico Rosberg. Formula e remains interesting because it is progressing very quickly. You can see how successful she is. It’s a very young championship which is taking a radically different direction and it’s enjoyable to watch. The discipline has a bright future and I follow that closely. »

If the reigning world champion rules out the possibility of a return to F1, he will remain present at times in the paddocks through his role as ambassador of Mercedes.

“I will continue to monitor developments and look forward to seeing the news car. I will be present at five or six Grands Prix and I will continue to work with the sponsors.”, added Nico Rosberg.

The German also confided that he had spoken with his replacement at Mercedes Valtteri Bottas.

“We talked together. I'm happy about that, but I didn't give him any advice or secrets about Lewis, even though I know him very well. I want to remain neutral”, underlined the former Mercedes driver.
