Rowland on pole in Berlin, DS Techeetah at the back of the grid

Made up of Mitch Evans (Jaguar Racing), Maximilian Günther (BMW i Andretti Motorsport), Sébastien Buémi (Nissan e-Dams), Lucas di Grassi (Audi) and the two DS Techeetahs of Jean-Éric Vergne and António Félix da Costa, the Q1 promised to be thrilling. It ended up being very surprising.

In fact, only the first two cities were able to record time. The other four were trapped and completed the session without being able to set a time. Probably not wanting to offer too much aspiration to their rivals, they drove slowly and were unable to trigger a fast lap before the end of Q1.

Once eliminated, the four drivers offered the rest of the field a great opportunity to fight for pole at Tempelhof. And in this game, it was Oliver Rowland who was the strongest. The Briton crossed the finish line with a time of 1'15"955. He is ahead of Robin Frijns (Envision Virgin Racing) and Neel Jani (Porsche). Replacing James Calado at Jaguar Racing, Tom Blomqvist fought for Superpole and ultimately finished 6th, more than half a second from the lead.

Lucas di Grassi, António Félix da Costa, Sébastien Buemi and Jean-Éric Vergne, all eliminated without a time in Q1, rank respectively from 21st to 24th positions.

The start of the race will be at 19:00 p.m. (French time) this Wednesday.
