Sam Bird leaves Virgin for Jaguar Racing

One of the figures of the Formula E getting ready to change his costume. Present since the first ePrix of the electric series in the fall of 2014, Sam Bird will leave Virgin after the finale of the 2019-20 season to join Jaguar Racing.

The 33-year-old Briton has nine victories, 18 podiums, five poles and as many best laps, all acquired with Virgin. “Over the years, the team has become like family to me and has played a crucial role in my career, recognizes Sam Bird.

Virgin and Formula E have reinvigorated my career and I will be forever grateful. There will certainly be a little tear in the eye as we finish the season in Berlin (Germany). »

The one who is also an AF Corse pilot in WEC on Ferrari is looking forward to his move to Jaguar. “ I have noted Jaguar's progress in FE and I will be very proud to drive for an English brand. I'm hungry for success and I think that with (teammate) Mitch Evans we can achieve great things. »
