Sean Gelael returns with Prema

Indonesia can always count on Sean Gelael to represent it in the FIA ​​peloton F2 in 2019. The one who was still in action yesterday with Toro Rosso at the Pirelli tire tests in Abu Dhabi, saw his short-term future confirmed this Wednesday, in the form of a contract extension with Prema Racing.

Author of only two podiums in four seasons in the category, Gelael will however find his place next year and will be the teammate of a driver who will be closely scrutinized by observers: Mick Schumacher.

“This season has been full of ups and downs, concedes Gelael. The start of the year was good, but from mid-championship, the situation was a little complicated. However, we know what went wrong and what we need to improve. There is still a lot to do. I'm happy that the team maintains their confidence in me to do an even better job next year. »

Gelael brings stability to the Prema program in FIA F2, which saw its other driver Nyck de Vries returns to the ART Grand Prix clan for 2019.
