Sette Camara winner of a lively sprint race in Austria

If the spectators present at the Red Bull Ring (Austria) were looking for a show this Sunday June 30, perhaps the Formula 2 gave them the best race of the day. The Sprint Race indeed contained many adventures, with accidents, overtaking, and the second victory in the discipline for Sergio Sette Camara (Dams).

The Brazilian, who started fourth, won by becoming the fourth different leader of the event in the seventh round. Until this moment, Nick de Vries (ART Grand Prix) seemed to hold the rope, but the Dutchman, author of a great start (6th to 1st in three laps) was the victim of engine problems. Fortunately for the leader of the general classification, he managed to restart his mount.

Louis Delétraz (Carlin), then second, could also have won this round without a sudden loss of brakes at the end of the straight on the 20th lap. The Swiss escapes unscathed.

Luca Ghiotto (UNI-Virtuosi) and Nyck de Vries complete the podium. Mick Schumacher (Prema, 4th) came within a few tenths of scoring his first podium in F2. The German made a remarkable comeback, moving smoothly from 18th to fourth place.

On the French side, nothing went as expected. Giuliano Alesi (Trident) retired following contact while Anthoine Hubert (Arden), who started fifth, slowly regressed. The double winner in 2019 was even stamped by Jack Aitken (Campos Racing) and finished the event with a damaged front wing in 16th place.
