After his victory last May at the Indianapolis 500, simon pagenaud took advantage of a break in the calendar IndyCar before the final sprint for the title, to reveal his face affixed to the Borg Warner trophy of the legendary American event.
The Team Penske driver is in Paris for the occasion, notably carrying out a media tour with the highlight of an upcoming visit to his town of Montmorillon (Vienna).
An unbelievable moment. Thank you @BorgWarner and Indianapolis Motor Speedway – it means so much to unveil my face on this historic trophy at home in France. Dreams do come true! #indycar # indy500 pic.twitter.com/epEuxCC5ld

“It means a lot to be the first driver outside the United States to have it unveiled in another country,” Pagenaud said. I don't want to take anything away from the United States, it's my country, I live there and I love the United States. I wouldn't have my career without the United States.
Getting recognition in France is phenomenal for me. It allows you to reflect on what I accomplished traveling the world with this victory. I would like to emphasize how grateful I am to Borg Warner for allowing me to realize a childhood dream: bringing the trophy here to France. It comes from the heart.

Seeing my face on the trophy is phenomenal. It looks like my face. Unfortunately, I have too many wrinkles. But I will never grow old again. I will always look like this on the trophy. The details are phenomenal. Will Behrends did a great job on the 30 winners he made, and I think mine is the best. He is perfectly coiffed. »
Simon Pagenaud still has the possibility of combining his Indy 500 coronation with a second IndyCar crown with four rounds remaining on the calendar. The Frenchman is in 3rd place in the standings, 47 points behind leader Josef Newgarden, his teammate in Roger Penske's team.
