Status calls on Anderson

The Irish Status team, which stands out among more renowned teams like ART Grand Prix, Mücke Motorsport, Tech 1 Racing and Manor Motorsport, has obtained from Gary Anderson the role of technical consultant within of the Irish team next season.

A former mechanic at Brabham, Anderson then progressed to technical management functions in F1, having notably contributed to designing the single-seaters at Jordan and Stewart-Jaguar until the early 2000s. Having been linked to Status GP for three years, Gary Anderson has accepted the role of technical consultant for the next season, during which the team Irish will participate in the new GP3 Series championship.

« GP3 is a new challenge for everyone, with a new car and new tires, confides Gary Anderson. A team of the caliber of Status GP will be competitive. I think the season will be very interesting. »

In addition, the team?s majority shareholder, Canadian Teddy Yip Junior, is convinced that Status can do well. GP3 will be very competitive. But the series is there above all to offer young drivers a chance to progress on their path to F1. We believe Status GP can provide the ideal environment for them to achieve this. »

Teddy Yip Junior is none other than the son of Theodore (Teddy) Yip Sr, who founded Theodore Racing in 1978. The team, which participated in the Formula 1 world championship in 1978 and from 1981 to 1983, was notably represented by Keke Rosberg (1978) and Patrick Tambay (1981).
