Ticktum wins the sprint race

He is the great specialist in these sprint races. As at Silverstone, the DAMS driver won on a Sunday in Formula 2, after getting the better of pole sitter Louis Delétraz (Charouz) at the start. The Briton beat Callum Ilott (UNI-Virtuosi) and Christian Lundgaard (ART Grand Prix), author of his second podium of the weekend.

Once again author of a superb start, Mick Schumacher, 8th on the grid, achieved a good 4th place despite a mistake at the first chicane on the 8th lap. Japanese Yuki tsunoda (Pug) and the Chinese Guanyu-Zhou (UNI-Virtuosi) were unlucky enough to suffer from a mechanical problem.

In the title race, Callum Ilott takes the lead in the championship ahead of the Prema duo Mick Schumacher and Robert Shwartzman. This is the first time this season that the German is ahead of his Russian teammate in the championship.
