Tom Blomqvist joins Oliver Turvey at NIO

Chinese team NIO has revealed its driver duo for the 2021 season of Formula E, Monday November 24 in the evening. The Briton Oliver Turvey, pillar of the team since the second campaign in 2015-16, will be joined by Tom Blomqvist.

The son of 1984 world rally champion Stig Blomqvist will contest his first full season in the electric series after eight starts between 2017 and 2020 for Andretti and Jaguar.

“Returning to Formula E full-time is fantastic as the sport has gone from strength to strength over the years and I feel very proud to be back on the grid for this seventh season., indicates the winner of the 1 Km of Paul-Ricard with Ferrari in GT World Challenge Europe.

It's been great getting to know the team recently and building those relationships together, we're all really pumped for the season ahead and the positive vibe is great. »

NIO will try to get out of the back of the grid in 2021 as the team finished last in 2019-20 without a single point and penultimate in 2018-19.
