The end of the season will take place on Sunday evening in Las Vegas and will promise breathtaking suspense. Tony Kanaan (KV Racing Technology Lotus) narrowly took pole ahead of Oriol Servia (Newman/Haas Racing). Ed Carpenter (Sarah Fisher Racing), last winner on the Kentucky oval, set the third time ahead of Alex Tagliani (Sam Schmidt). Ryan Briscoe (Team Penske) and Marco Andretti (Andretti Autosport) complete the top six on the grid.
But all eyes will be on Will Power (Team Penske) and Dario Franchitti (Target Chip Ganassi Racing). The two rivals for the title missed their qualifying and will only start from the ninth row. If the Australian is ahead of the Scotsman on the grid, the three-time champion of the?IndyCar Series starts with the best advantage since it has an 18-point lead over its rival, who missed his race in Kentucky.
