Italian triumph in GP2 Asia

Giacomo Ricci (DPR) won this weekend's second race in Bahrain, taking the lead from the first corner. He won ahead of Sam Bird (ART Grand Prix) and Alvaro Parente (Team Coloni).

The French were not unworthy since Jules Bianchi (ART Grand Prix), although he was unable to finish the race, achieved the fastest lap. For his part, Charles Pic (Arden International) was able to be quick and overcome the ?handicap? of the reverse grid, before having to return to his stand due to a puncture.

Jules Bianchi, who only took part in three of the four meetings this season, finished in 13th place in the final general classification. Charles Pic, author of a pole and a victory in eight races, finished in fifth place.

Italy can congratulate itself on the final podium in the discipline. Davide Valsecchi, champion since the last meeting, sees two compatriots following him in the ranking. Luca Filippi and Giacomo Ricci finished with 29 points.
