Third pole in a row for Albon

Alexander albon (DAMS) once again succeeded in qualifying by signing a third pole in a row in F2. On the Monaco circuit, pole position proves to be all the more valuable. With a best time of 1'21''727, he is ahead of the Russian Artem Markelov (Russian Time), back at the front, and Antonio Fuoco (Charouz) in his group.

In group B, despite attempts to Nyck de Vries (Prema Racing), the Dutchman failed one hundredth of the time of the DAMS driver and will have to be content with a start in second place. He is ahead of Sergio Sette Câmara (Carlin) and Luca Ghiotto (Campos)

The rest of the top 10 is made up of Maximilian Günther (Arden) who turns out to be the best rookie in qualifying just ahead of the Tridents of Arjun Maini and Santino Ferrucci, the Swiss Ralph Boschung (MP Motorsport) slotting in between the two teammates from the Italian team.

The session was marked by two errors by the Carlin drivers. First of all the error of Lando Norris who broke his wing at the exit of turn 16 and was satisfied with a 9e place in group, ranking which could change since the leader of the championship is under investigation for having blocked Albon in group A. Then, in group B, Sergio Sette Câmara who hits the wall at Ste Devote, the Brazilian suspecting a fracture of the hand after this contact.
